Abstract


In present study, we have developed pH-independent sustained release matrix tablet containing Propranolol HCl. In the present study pH-independent sustained release matrix tablets were prepared by using different type of extended release polymers and organic acids by direct compression method. In this we have prepared different formulation (F2 to F11) and all subjected to in-vitro release studies, from this studies it was observed that formulation F3 (CAP 40% + Succinic acid 20%) and F4 (Ethyl cellulose 40% + Succinic acid 20%) are most successful formulations because as compare to other formulations the drug release from the F3 and F4 were sustained for 12 hours and percent cumulative drug release respectively 97.003 % and 95.533 % more than other formulations.
